My professional passion is helping people to use technology, specifically, computers and computer applications. My ARP will be centered around this. My ARP focuses on how educational theories and methods can be used in staff development and training. Once the educational theories and methods are in place, it is up to the instructional designer/developer as to what technologies are used to implement/facilitate learning and instruction.

Today I trained a person to be part of the Blackboard System Support CoP. Another person expressed interest in similar training. After I train that person, we will have four people in the CoP. I am curious, however, as to how I will collect data for this portion of my ARP.

I am becoming more interested in e-Marketing. I am also interested in the impact that technology has on culture and society. I plan to lead two more face-to-face videotaped training sessions before I conclude my ARP data collection. I still need to start and complete my executive summary. I would like to have my executive summary complete and my data collected by June 15, 2003 (Lord Willing). I will then begin my display and presentation preparation.

As I continue in my OMAET coursework, I am trying to look at things from the perspective of an educational technology consultant. I would like to include consulting as part of my job at work - helping faculty integrate technology in their instruction/delivery.
I would like to finish my executive summary tonight. I also want to start generating some ideas regarding my display for exhibitions. I am asking myself the question, "How can I dress up my display?".

I am glad that Chad MacDonald posted some executive summary examples. I am preparing to lead another technology training session next week (we will see). Video collected during the session will become part of my Cycle Two ARP data.

I would like to use what I have learned during my OMAET experience to empower educators with technology and show them how to use technology to apply educational theories/methods.

Everything is going smoothly with my data collection - thank God! I will collect data throughout the next month or so in preparation for July's exhibition. I am excited about creating brochures promoting my hybrid learning theory. I wonder if I need to have the theory copyrighted. I will ask Dr. Sparks.

I am adding one more set of data to cycle 1 of my report. I will collect data as I test the Communities of Practice learning theory. I will create a Community of Practice for Blackboard system support specialists. I will also train students on the Blackboard system over the summer.

I am excited about putting together my ARP resentation. I am planning to write the summary ASAP. Data displayed at my table will include video, journal entries, and training session evaluations. I would like to conduct at least three more training sessions before the end of the trimester (second cycle).

For my ARP, I am testing learning theories (social learning theory and scaffolding theory) and using my findings to develop my own learning theory. I am excited about redesigning my OMAET web pages (edc 668). God is so Good. I am looking forward to the end of this trimester.
